Paramedics took him to Loyola University Medical Center in critical condition, and he was later pronounced dead, according to authorities.
Police said the shooting may have been a drive-by.
Five others were injured in shootings Monday, police said.
About 11:45 p.m., a man, whose exact age was not immediately available, drove himself to Advocate Christ Medical Center after getting shot in the Princeton Park neighborhood on the Far South Side, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago police spokesman.
The man was in the 100 block of West 95th Street when he was shot in the right thigh, Alfaro said, citing preliminary information.
At 7:26 p.m. two men were wounded in a shooting on the 1700 block of South Leavitt Street in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood, Alfaro said.
A 36-year-old man and a 33-year-old man were walking when a sedan drove by and someone inside fired shots, Alfaro said.
The older man was shot in the lower back and the other man was shot in the chest, Alfaro said. The men were taken to Stroger Hospital. The 33-year-old was listed in critical condition, and the 36-year-old was in serious condition, Alfaro said.
Someone shot a 24-year-old man in the left leg about 1:35 p.m. He was walking in the 5400 block of West Harrison Street when he heard shots and felt pain, according to Officer Kevin Quaid, a Chicago police spokesman. He was taken to Loretto Hospital, where his condition stabilized.
Earlier, someone shot a 29-year-old man in the left thigh about 12:05 p.m., according to police.
He was driving in the 4300 block of West Palmer Street in the Hermosa neighborhood when two people he did not know began shooting at him, said Officer Nicole Trainor, a Chicago police spokeswoman. The 29-year-old drove himself to Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, where he was treated and released. Police previously said the man's age was 28.

No one was in custody as a result of the shootings as of early Tuesday morning.
